Has anyone ever come across an Ithaca SKB model 500 O/U with a straight English grip instead of a pistol grip? I can find no reference to this variation anywhere. Not even in old catalogs. The one I now have is in 20 ga. 26 inch barrels and weights in at 5 3/4 pounds. The only reference to a straight grip in the Ithaca import era is the 680 model that came out new in the 1973 catalog. I'm thinking it might somehow be a modification of a pistol grip but the finish on the stock and wood is identical to a 280 SxS I had.

I seem to recall seeing one for sale a while back, I think it was a 12/26". Nice guns. I have a mid-eighties 500 that's a carbon copy of the Weatherby Orion. Pistol grip stock on mine.

I wish the one I have was straight stocked. Can't shoot it though it has lead a rough life was left in a damp basement. The barrels cleaned up nice but the receiver looks all spotted now from a heavy rust killing cleaning.

Oh and the selector switch is messed up. As soon as you close the barrels it fires which ever barrel the selector switch is set to.

Sounds like a trip to the gunsmith is in order. Why not get it operational at least?
