Ithaca x5/x15 lightning

Howdy folks...

I've posted my love of the dual guide rails found in a Remington 597.... I was going through some Ithaca schematics this morning, and see that Ithaca used 2 guide rails on the x5/x15 models. Seems like a late 50's early 60's product. I've not seen one before, but am curious.

Anyone here own one? How did it perform? Did many make it to Canada?

yep, I have an x5 lightning. My dad got it in the mid 60's, swore he fired what seemed like a million rounds through it thanks to free ammo courtesy of his high school cadet regiment. I used it throughout the late 80's and I shot as well as any of my friends with their 22's. I inherited it a couple years ago and it still fires pretty good but the clip is worn out so it jams occasionally, I found this thread looking for a replacement clip. Odd pulling back the receiver with that little rod but it works well.

I had a x5 lightning a few years ago, sold it.
No complaints, shot it lots, never jammed and was accurate.
