What are your opinions on this shotgun. They are pretty fancy looking. They don't seem to sell for a whole lot. How come?

Dave.

2 3/4 shells only and they dont adapt between magnum and target loads easily ( at least mine doesn't ) also barrell may be to thin to shoot steel. I got mine from my father and I love to shoot clays with it. wont ever part with it.

My buddy and I have them (mine is an SKB XL900 I bought on this site last year). They shoot great and are light for upland hunting. I've only seen one besides mine and my buddys. Guys who have them love them. I had my barrel bored out to modified and have shot steel with it. My gunsmith said it was ok for opening up to modified choke but he wouldn't put choke tubes in it....

I forgot to mention, there were a couple models of Ithaca shotguns that aren't as popular and lower value than the XL300 and XL900 models (which are gas operated).
The model 300 and 900 which are recoil operated autos like the old Browning A5. I've held an Ithaca 900 and it felt great and it looks good too. I don't know about the reliability of the recoil guns, they weren't sold for many years.
