One of my friends has a good ol' Ithaca 12 gauge pump shotgun and wants to give it to his wife to go hunting deer with him.
In Quebec, we have zones where the only way for deer hunting is with shotgun or blackpowder rifles.
What are the options for him: is there an aftermarket slug barrel with sights he can buy easily or will he have to rely on the standard barrel and put a sight on it?
What kind of sights can be adapted for that kind of shotgun?

If it has a vent rib barrel, there are rifle type sights that clamp onto the rib from a few different manufacturers. They are usually advertised as "turkey sights", but should work for slugs as well.
