The Ithaka was made by Tikka in the Model 55 action. They are very well made and accurate rifles. If it is in good shape and the price is right I would snap it up. There were a few models made from hunting to target versions.

Aren't some versions based on the Sako L61R? My friend has one that has been fired maybe 10x. I am not familiar with the Tikka 55, so they look similar to the Sako action?

I just picked up a Ithaca LSA65 a few weeks ago in 30 06. Reall comfortable rifle, very balanced and the trigger is even easier that the T3 to adjust. Crisp as all Tikkas.

I havent fired it yet but expect it to shoot because thats their reputation.

I don't think you'd be disappointed in their product.

Be carefull.I looked at one up in Qualicum that had a real crappy barrel rust 1/2 way down (hadnt been cleaned in 12 years or so) and a fogged scope her son picked it up and took it back too Victoria to sell because my offer of $375.00(I have a barrel that would work) was not enough.Graham

I think that would be from neglect by the previous owner and not the manufacturer.
