Can anybody give some more info on these Rifles ? I know 65 is for Long action, seems they were imported by Ithica in the 70's ? What are the options for mounts - same as T3's , Sako....?

Of any rifles built by Tikka the model 55s and 65s are by far my favourites.
I still have two of each and have had several.
Tikka made several different mounts for them including a really nice quick release type which I have.
Weaver makes bases for them and I use them also because I can get the scope down a bit lower with them.
I'm not certain ,but I think the new T3 requires a slightly different base / mounting set-up.

They have the same dovetail as the T3 and the 595/695's...as well as being drilled and tapped....use two #61 Weaver bases...or do what I did with one of my 65's...I took a set of Leupold QD's for a Model 70 and milled the bottoms flat...screw spacing is the same.
I've owned three M65's all Deluxes(still have one) and three M55's...all marked Tikka,..I've never seen an Ithaca marked version but they are out there.
I have a couple sets of Tikka made rings that will fit the dovetail...might even sell them:D
