All work and detailing by Rick Timmons at ATR.......just awsome craftmanship and service.

That's not the Dakota action I saw Rick get when I was down in July, was it? I thought that was a real big action (505 Gibbs sized). Will you have it before Christmas or will I have to post some spy photos when I visit Rick?

Big Ugly Man:

If LRC does not mind, I will interject. I belive that is the same one you saw. I was just at Ricks aka ATRS and saw the same action only this time it’s a rifle. At the time the stock was still in the grey, and the bedding material was just hardening up.

This is going to be a great rifle, and I look forward to its range results. What struck me, and maybe it’s the combination of the rifle barrel contour vs the muzzle break contour, but man, that it one massive muzzle break. The only one bigger that I have seen are the ones Rick puts on his 50's.

All the best, and look forward to your results

Regards
R

B.U.M. Same action, these things take time. Mr. Wagner, the stock turned black not long after your visit. . Maybe it is from the heat of blackening the rifle, I read some where that to blacken metal a person subjects the metal parts to EXTREME heat, I wonder if I was supposed to remove the stock???
The heat sure did make the bedding epoxy cure quickly.

Where did you get a Dakota 76 action? Is it new???

Yep it is. I was there when it came out fo the box. Second guy to get his grubby little paws on it this side of the Dakota factory. Rick was watching me pretty close or I would have been out the damn door with it. Well, I might have, but he had about a grand worth of Rigby stuff for me so I wouldn't have gone far, despite what the profit margin for me would have been. That and what would I do with an action that I boosted from my buddy the riflesmith? Not like I could sneak it back to him to get built.

It's going to be a beauty. If I see it, I'll tell you all how nice it is.

I tell ya, I had the damned thing in my grubby little paws last night.

You'll hate it Brian. Not your style at all. I'll take it off your hands for cheap. ;) Maybe you'll be too busy working and need someone to break it in and do some load development work for you? I hire out pretty cheap.

I should have taken my camera...Everyone will want to see pics of it. I had a hell of a time putting the damned thing down. I did notice Rick keeping a pretty steady watch over me and there were a few handguns close at hand should I have tried to flee with the rifle. Had a good visit with Rick. Delayed production of a few rifles but it was worth it. Hopefully things go right and I can get back over there this week for another visit (and to pick up the Old Man's Christmas Present).

The handguns were just eye candy.....Rick was really hoping you would run so he could crack off a shot with the .50 mounted on the roof. He did say he thought he had a sucker lined up.

It is a great rifle and I am counting the days, glad you had the chance to see it, and if we ever hook up on the range I would be more than happy to let ya Hold a clay pigeon at 1500 meters so you can realy see what this puppy will do.:D :D

Ok here are some teasers till I get some better pics done. I had it at the range today for the first time and this baby ROCKS!!! No Recoil none, nada, zip. I can shoot this till my 90's if I live that long. Extreamly happy with the rifle. Exceptionaly happy with the service. Can not say enough good about the whole experiance of dealing with Alberta Tactical and Rick Timmons. It Just doesnt get any better.

I'm not much of a photographer, but hope to have some done that do the rifle justice.
