Just playing the devil's advocate here....I wouldn't give a rat's ass about "regulations" if I manage to save my life (or somebody else's) by dropping a bear that's about to eat me.

All I've ever used as a bear gun is my 1300 and all I've really ever heard is that 12 gauge is the minimum, etc. I've done some research but couldn't really find anything on the lighter gauges and bears. What says you CGN folk on a 20 ga pump with buck and slugs for my friend. It will be a little more manageable for her but will it be enough bang for the bear? I'd be interested in any experiences or thoughts on this. Thanks.
