its decision time! HK USP9 or Sig P226

I have owned both, 2 totaly different feeling guns.
i could not get over how bulky the usp was, and i normaly a glock guy, so that says alot.
Id prob go with a sig if i have a chance to buy one or the other again.

These are subjective things. If you want DAO or hammer-down carry, the 226 makes much more sense than the USP. If you want to carry cocked-and-locked, the USP is indicated (only because most 226 models are ruled out). The 226 feels very good to me, the 225 feels great, and the USP is just too big, for me. Both 226 and USP are too thick for practical CCW, IMO, where a Glock 19/23 or a short 1911 is an option. For magazines, parts, and service availability, the Glocks and the P226 are the clear leaders.

If you hold them, you'll know.

how much is true about the nitron coating on the sigs?? i hear its not as resilient as glock or HK...hard decision but im leaning towards the P30L for the simple fact of the adjustable back straps.

sigs are used the world over as duty pistols much more so than HK for a reason, Not to say HK is not the gun to get. I'd recommend trying to find a 226 or 220 made in Germany as the QC in germany is third party and literally 3 times more sringent than sig new hampshire. Both Excellent guns you willbe happy with either but my recommendation is sig. I own both. 228 if you can find one, older 226's have stamped slides lighter than the steel and less muzzle flip, faster follow up shots, BE CAREFUL WITH THE CPO's don't recommend them at ALL.

That is very true, i did get a mark on mine from god knows what because i am normally pretty careful. I loved the feel of the P30 but am not a fan of the finger groves. I normally make decisions that i cant make by flipping a coin, if i feel the urge to 'flip again' i know that i subconsciously want the other one.

I have both and I find the coating/finish on the HK to be much more durable than the finish on the Sig. The Sig is more susceptible to nicks and scratches in my experience. For a gun that costs as much as a Sig does I was very disappointed in the quality of the finish. It does, however, shoot well.
