Hey everyone,

Just got confirmation that my license is in the mail! Can't wait.

Just a quick question for Ontario people with their restricted PAL. I am looking at purchasing a pistol. I have been told I need to be part of a gun club for the store to get me an ATT. Is this true?

Thanks in advance!

Just going through this.

I received my RPAL last week. I am picking up the firearm this week.

The store issues an ATT for the trip from their store to your home only.

I am enrolled in a half day course at the range i have become a member of, taking place before the month is out.

They take the info of your firearm and send it off to firearms officer (I believe) who issues the ATT to transport from your house to your range/club. I hear it takes a few weeks to have your ATT mailed to you.

Yes, most places will not sell you a restricted firearm if you are not a member of a club. Technically I believe you do not NEED to be a member of a club, But I haven't seen any stores around here that will sell you a restricted firearm with out being a member.

How long was your wait time?

Received in Miramichi on Sept 4, i had my phone interview on Oct 2. They did one ref. interview that same day, other was just yesterday. Licence issued today! 36 days!!

PS. I called in yesterday just to see how things were rolling, they informed me they had not been able to reach my 2nd reference, so they told me to get him to call in, he did about an hour later.

Mine was received in Miramichi on Aug 13. My status showed that my application was approved and card issued by the last week in Sep. 4 business days later it arrived in the mail

Thanks!

in the section where you put the ser# cert# and fin# just get them to put please see file that way it covers all your guns if u buy a new one they will need to add it again which means a new ATT

Thanks. I am looking at purchasing another firearm so I was actually wondering if you could apply multiple firearms to a blanket ATT.

I never called or tried to push it along. I have heard of people waiting longer than others but just about 28 days after showing received in NB, i received a phone call to verify my info. Within 2 days, my references were called and my status was approved and issued/in the mail. I received the card 4 business days later.

Easy and painless process really...except for the tormenting wait.

I would call, at least once just to check that everything is cool. They are the best customer service folks i have ever talked to, and seem genuinely interested in helping. Plus if there is an issue you can save a ton of time waiting for a call or letter from them.

My club has "All restricted/prohibited firearms registered to the applicant" in that space.

Our club ATT applications had that written into a PDF we used.

Covers any future purchases. We ALL have future purchases.

Same as Westislandrifle's comment, different wording.

Can I ask which club you're joining?

Ours does ATT's by e-mail now. To the CFO and to the member. Much easier and faster.

On my LTATT it says all firearms for which the license holder possesses the registration certificate. Got that from the guys that taught my PAL/RPAL courses.
