We will be heading out for a nice rolly-polly bear in a few more days, as many of you will be also.

Here's a link you may be interested in. It is a great resource on delicious bacon, sausage, roasts, lard, and boot grease. :)

The page numbering is a bit confusing with even-numbered pages on left, and odd on right. It is in a booklet format, designed to be printed both sides, then stapled together.

Good luck to everyone heading out in the next few weeks.

Excellent book there Ted. Thanks for that. I will be on the lookout for a nice boar in a few weeks. Nothing showing around here yet. Still 3 feet of snow in the bush.
Oh ya it will be my first bear.

I'm planning on taking my son out for a hike with a rifle to see what happens. I don't need another bear as I still have some sausage in the freezer from last Fall. It's the pursuit that's the fun part.

Bears are roaming around in town now...

We will be heading out after the turkey season... son is looking for his first bear and will be using his bow... after 40 years of archery bears, I am planning on bagging my first rifle bear with a Ruger No.1 (haven't decide which one yet)... looking forward to the summer sausage.
