It's the zombie apocalypse. Are you going to carry your AR?

A comment in another thread got me thinking about this...

In a SHTF scenario, what do you think would be the result of openly carrying restricted firearms into the world? Is there any precedent for it? Ft McMurray? Just curious what others thought. I would like to think that LE would be understanding and have other priorities at that point, but it could attract some unwanted attention at the very least. Hypothetical only...nobody should have the intention of breaking any firearms laws of course.

If there is a zombie apocalypse the last thing that LEOs are going to be doing is enforcing the law, they would probably be home with their family. Once everything fully goes to #### no one will worry if a firearm is restricted or not

Ft Mcmurray wasn't a WROL scenario. It was certainly a SHTF scenario.

I can only imagine someone carrying a restricted if the police/government have fallen.....in a specific area or at large. I don't remember a scenario like that.

Agree! But I just mentioned the zombie apocalypse for fun. I really mean any SHTF scenario.

I know and yeah if it is just "local" thing like Ft.McMurray I think the LEOs would say something if you are just wandering around with a restricted in plain sight. Now if we are talking about when everyone was racing out of town with the flames on both sides of the road and you had your AR in the front seat, I think the LEOs wouldn't even blink a eye.

Carrying an AR in an evacuated community, with only police and emergency service personnel present, would be a really stupid idea. Who were you planning on shooting?
