IUR heat shield rattle...that I have made worse

I have a few CC IUR's and one had a loose heat shield that rattles. It's brand new never been shot, but the heat shield rattling around was annoying me.
Looking at a few diagrams I could see there is nothing holding the shield in but the spring tension on the shield itself. So I took a couple short lengths of plastic and pushed in the two detents on each side of the IUR. I figured I could then grab the shield with a long hemostat, pull it out and rebend it, and push it back into place.
So after trying this I have a heat shield that I cannot remove, but rattles even worse. It seems that pressing on the pins isn't quite enough to pull the shield out. But it is enough to bend the shield so it rattles worse.
Great...
I need to send this IUR somewhere to have this heat shield removed and installed now as I've made this problem worse.
Any recommendations on where to send it? I know the heat shield has to be removed to get at the barrel.

That would be under warranty. Simple fix though if you want to do it yourself.

Take a couple of preferably non-marring pointy instruments that fit in the forward holes on the rail left and right side. I use sharpened bamboo chopsticks. push in slightly and foreword to get the heat shield to move forward. Keep doing this until the detents are forward of the retaining holes. Then go to the rail sling mounting cups and you should see another set of detents.... Repeat until these detents clear the rear holes. Then with the Iur off the rifle, optics removed, smack it smartly downward onto a piece of softwood. The heat shield should pop out... May take a few smacks. You may have to reach in and pull out with a long pair of needle nose pliers. Once out, slightly bend out or flair the shield. Replacement is pretty obvious. I use a small piece of non-marring wood to push it back into place. When the front holes show the detents, your done.

Hope that makes sense.

Thanks for the tips! It worked great.
I used some wooden swab sticks. It popped right out without much trouble. I've shaped it back into form. But is there any reason I need to install it? I don't anticipate the barrel ever getting hot enough to need it.
Again, thanks for the tips.

The offending piece. The the marks on the bottom of it are not from me.

Yes there should be. This isn't even one of the "belm" uppers.
But if I could do this myself and save the hassle of shipping it I thought I would give it a try.
And perhaps the warranty may not be of any use since I made the problem worse.

I popped it back into place. No rattle at all now.
This would probably take less than a few minutes now that I have done it.
