I've asked every one of the Ba$tards to give me a list of their likes and don't likes, and not one of 'em has spoken up.
So, I figure they gets what they gets, and they deserve it.

So, I'm asking you guys, what's on your hunt camp menu?

We have a couple of advantages.

We have Hydro, a fairly large fridge, and electric stove with oven, and a chest freezer. We can have just about anything.

If they didn't give you a list... then they get to eat what they hunted for that day or fished for... ;)

" a couple of advantages??" your living in luxery man! ;) Enjoy

Send me your e mail addy and I'll send you a sample menu I use for the moose hunt.
After we agree on the menu, I can do a take-off for the side dishes I need to buy.
Every member of our group contributes one supper entre, pre-cooked, sliced, frozen and wrapped in newspaper, to slow down thawing.
In the camp, the "cook" only has to heat things up, thus getting supper on the table faster for a bunch of hungry guys.
If you have electricity and the amenities you mentioned, you have it made.
We're working out of coolers, on coleman stoves, under propane lights in a tent.

i'm really just looking for something different.
I have the list from years past.
But, for example, we have three basic breakfasts.
Bacon and eggs
porridge
or, on rainy days, pancakes (takes longer to make enough for 12 Pigs.. er guys :) )

We used to have sausages now and then, but, the grease got to be a bit much, and the guys put a stop to it.

Toasted westerns or Denvers are always yummy in the morning.

I'd make sure to have a crock pot there... many, many uses and the meal is ready when ya get back from hunting

So many things you can do with the options you have JYC !

Chilli really spicy chilli with LOTS of ground meat in it

Lobster *up until i moved to this hell hole from NS i used to bring a few lbs for every hunt.*

Sushi with a fresh batch of wasabi.

grilled rattle snake or aligator soaked in a honey garlic bath

for the other guys mr noodles and KD

Way ahead of you there, My wife has a huge crockpot, and it does wonders for a roast.
The stews are going to be a lot better, and easier than they were in the past too.

Premake breakfast . Into mashed potatoes mix brown beans , rice , bacon bits and lots of butter with a few eggs . Make them into patties , large , and fry them for breakfast . Taste good and tons of carbs loaded for the hunt . Brown bread and a glass of O.J.

That's the common breakfast of the ECO-Challenge . Lots of carbs for extended energy without massive bulk making you want to lay down for a nap .

Now someone else come up with a good lunch keeping in mind that by lunch time our hard hunters may have burned 1,500 calories . They need energy and nutrician without massive bulk .

Who has a good , light mid-morning and mid-afternoon snack that can be carried in the pocket of a hunting jacket ?

Supper . A variety of meat that can be fried , steaks , chops . I have no problem with potatoes in a can . I hate peeling them and the accompanying water necessary to peel and wash . Spuds can be fried with the meat or boiled . Bags of assorted veggies . Stir fry or boil . Condiments . Pre-made , off the shelf cakes and pies . Tim Hortons coffee for every meal and don't forget a few bags of oatmeal raisin cookies .

Good to go .:)

The camp has a chilli recipe, and, it seems to me that years ago we used to make our own meat loaf right in camp. Those days we cooked on a wood stove, and had no hydro.
thanks for the reminder.

Toasted westerns for 12.
How many eggs would that take?

We have a four slice toaster, a micro wave, and a commercial drip coffee maker to play with too.

After reading your menu suggestions, I'm all for hunting with you!

Mid day meals should be hand-propelled with nothing to clean up. I like sandwiches with cheese, meat or meat loaf. Canned fruit. Crackers. Cookies. Wrap in baggies and carry in a daypack or buttpack.

If you are travelling in trucks, you can have a Coleman stove for coffee, reheated soup or boil in a bag meals.
