Well, when I was home visiting my family for Thanksgiving I aquired a fairly decent Savage model 99 in .300Sav. from my brother Gilly:D
Now it looks as though 'Gilly' is turning to his T/C Encore in .50cal m.l. and will soon be brandishing it with two more barrels,7mmRem Mag. & a .223Rem.So it seems he will no longer have any use for my Dad's Winchester mod. 88 in .308,therefore 'Gilly' told me it's all mine  :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D ,
&^%$ me Freddy,Do I feel LUCKY  :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:
What a nice brother :!:
Thanks Gilly :!: ,and Thanks for coming to visit this weekend

Did they D&T right over the 99 stamp?

Does it have a schnobel forearm or round end on the forearm?

What is the date stamp on the front of the lever? It'll be in a small circle.

It has a schnabel forend, #3 on the front of the lever (no circle though),the serial # is 6 digits starting with 4 & ending with 2

Model EG, probably around 1941, hard to find a 99 that was made during the war, they were producing enfields back then for the war effort.

In 1944 there were only 156 Savage 99's made.
