...so where do I get the other 1/3rd? My vertical grip is going to dance around all over the place unless I can get this rail thing nailed down. It should be a little 3" rail piece with a couple of evil-looking black screws. Suggestions? Price?

When I bought mine a number of years ago, the gun came complete with that "first third", i.e. one side-mounted rail. The remaining 2/3, i.e. the other side and the wraparound, were purchased separately.
Why not put a WTB ad in the EE? There must be some CX4 carbine owners who aren't using that original side rail piece and would sell.

That's odd. I though the options were no rail, 2/3 rail, and full rail. I was not under the impression anyone had 1/3 rail. You'd think Beretta might have anticipated all the social upheaval and just given all the guns full rail. I thought I read somewhere that Epps was selling the missing elusive third. My quest continues.
As I said, that purchase was years ago. Maybe today they come equipped differently. Mine came with the side rail that could be mounted on either side, and I eventually bought the rest of the kit. Worse comes to worst, you could buy the whole kit and just use the part(s) you need.
