You people.... :eek: get me going and then the state dept smacks me down...



I've been wanting something in 308 for a bit... I've looking and waiting and hoping the the M1A fairy would bring me an M21 or M25 but since that doesn't appear like it's gonna happen I've decided that maybe I'll look for something else.... Bushmaster hmm not making them any more....

:rolleyes: BUT NO!! I can't do something that simple......

I see this and I go that's snazzy .... But I can't get it in Canada state dept

So then I figured OK I'll get an M305 from Rodger and have him tweak the trigger and I'd maybe get a slightly better stock and throw a scope on it and I'd be done

Of couse then we hear that the US state dept has sorta put the kybosh on that idea..

So I don't know where to turn or what to do but I still want a really nice semi tactical 308... I want something that will stand out and can be far more accurate then I am out to distances of 500 yds or better...

I'm not wanting to sell a kidney to buy/built something but I'm not afraid to put money into something that does want I want..


Arggh well at least Christmas is almost here maybe the M1A fairy got busy with that and I'll get my M21 in the new year...

Nope... that's just boring... I don't wan't a standard AR I have 2 or three of those.. The issue with the DPMS are that the US State dept will not allow the export of AR15 style rifles with collapsible stocks or threaded barrels as of November 1st, 2005.. I can get plain jane and I can add a new stock and a muzzle break or even have the barrel threaded up here...... But I want something that when people see they got what is that... But it has to shoot too...
 
Bear the best I can do is offer ya a beer and invite you to come sit on the back porch so we can sulk together....as far as you getting a M21 or M25 from Spring Field Armoury I wish you luck. I tried just about a year ago and was told by a rep at Springfield they can not export those rifles because they are designated Sniper Rifles. If things have changed let me know. Otherwise join me for that beer.
 
What, there should be the occasional Sage stock floating about. Ask Skullboy, GG&FB or Hungry and they might be able to point you in the right direction.

Well seen them in country but knowing how state works you may be right....

Gee Ft McMurray seem just alittle far to go fer a beer.. I interviewed up there once.. I thought it was a long way away and far to remote.. Of course now I do live in the middle of nowehere
