The extractor on my 12ga single keeps sticking and not popping the shell out. It does it about 50% of the time, and I've tried taking it apart and oiling all the sliding parts, but that didn't help much. Any thoughts? It's an older one, from the 50's or 60's. Thanks for any help.

Usually they are a very simple mechanism. The only extractors I've seen stick are either dirty or have been bent by a stuck shell. Remove the extractor, clean the shaft and also the tube. reassemble and try it. If it still sticks remove again put it in a vice and sand the shaft with 400 grit paper. If that doesn't work, bite the bullet and see a gunsmith.
