Belongs to the Fr-in-law. Iver Johnson Champion .410 single shot shotgun, made in Cobourg, says 'Arms and Cycle' or something like that. In good condition, original and complete, not much bluing left on barrel or action, wood shows some aging of the finish but no cracks or missing pieces, functions 100%. For lack of a better description, I'd call it a farm gun in good condition. What sort of value on these guns? I'll take a picture tonight.

Champions are really great singles but not particularly valuable unless in rare variations; solid rib, deluxe checkered stocks etc,. They were made in Coburg after WW2 for a while. You're describing pretty much a "grey gun" so around $75 in 12 or 16 gauge maybe $100 in 20, 28 or .410 in my area anyway. They are really light and fit most shooters better than most other makes of singles though. I would hunt with it personally, make a great ditch gun for partridge.

I sold one maybe two years ago in 410 and managed to get $125 out of it on a $150 listing dispite a book value of 75-250 and mine was in much better condition from the sounds of your write up. Yours I am guessing $100 being a 410
From what I noted the 410 champion was only available in a model 36 and was made between 1913 and 1956. They sold new in 1955 for $24.99.
Also have to make sure it is not a 44 bored to 410 which a lot were during those years. If it is not worth too much. take care

Don't sell it for less than $150, it is worth all of 150.

Being a .410 it should be darn close to that. If it was in better condition instead of a "farm gun", it would bring even more (in my meager opinion). I have an Iver Johnson in .410 in almost new condition. I may have gotten screwed but I paid a lot more than $150.00.
I have a very nice 16 gauge that I paid $120.00 for, but the .410's usually bring a lot more.

Don't think you got screwed if you go by book value almost new is in the 250 range. The op's sounds like a farm gun however which is why I said 100. As Mike indicated however for some reason they seem to be fairly common down east and mine was no farm gun , closer to as new and only pulled $125 in 410. $75 for 16ga. But like anything supply and demand. There are two 16ga sitting here now at a shop for $75.

Yes, area can affect price if one is buying locally. I believe my 16 gauge was $120.00 with the shipping included. So that makes it about $100.00 for it. And you are correct, it is supply and demand at the time one is selling.
