Hey guys, I have this old Iver Johnson 12 gauge champion single shot that seems to be having issues locking up. When I close the barrel, the snap lever dose not lock, instead it just stays in the open position. Is there a spring missing or something? Also, to close it, I have to push the snap lever far to the left to make it stay closed.

Yes, there is a locking bolt spring and a locking bolt rod that hooks to the opening lever. Could be the spring is broke or the rod has bent. Below is a schematic.
