Hello anyone know of a website for looking up Iver Johnson Revolver Serial Number Dating ?

I've been looking and can't seem to find one.
Have an old revolver SN- 8400 range and want to see if qualifies as Antique status.

Likely a 38 Smith &Wesson. Don’t think it’s antique and caliber is a no go if 38 S/w.

It's all been said already. The only thing to add would be that Iver Johnson serial numers are not documented and can't be verified. You can only go by model and caliber. This one is definitely out.

Sucks eh, they go from Antique to Prohib with 1 thing missing, or in this case the chambering too

Unfortunately, that is how it is. There are many examples of this - my favorite is the Remington over/under deringer. Only the writing on top of the barrel decides if it's antique or prohib. Everything else about the gun has been virtually identical from 1866 to 1935.
