IVI 223 Brass weight?

Although I have 100 Lapua bass in 223 on order For Fun I shot 16 IVI mil-surp. I thought I would weigh some brass tonight I also weighed 19 Partizan shells as well.
The IVI really surprised me as far as consistency. The extreme low was 101.4 grains on my powder scale and the extreme high was 102.4 = 1 grain max spread. These are once fired by myself no resizing and no case trimming. The over all average is 102.09375 grains. I really have not paid that much attention to brass weight but dose this seem good?
The Partizan shells are obviously allot lighter and have a greater amount of variation in weight. Weight as I see it means more brass and less case capacity I assume from what I have read.
How dose this IVI brass stand up to others?
 
I have reloaded IVI many time over. ...6x so far. Keeping the powder load to a light load extends the reloading life. None have shown signs of stress yet. I have had to trim "some" of the casings after 4x firings but majority are fine. the consistency in weight shows uniformity in the casings and allows for better expansion of the pressure and less full length sizing is necessary if you shoot it from the same gun.
 
16 pieces of brass really isn't much of a test lot. If you had 1600 pcs that weighed within a grain I would be impressed. I have found most IVI brass to be all over the map when it comes to weight. If you can get your hands on enough that weighs the same there is nothing wrong with it. Like Toymaker said, use lighter loads.
The .223 Winchester brass I have around here runs 94-96gr over 500 pcs.
You will find once you start loading Lapua brass you won't want to use anything else so you should order at least another 400.

3x for maynard's post. Any IVI I have used also had somewhat less powder capacity in relation to other types of brass.
 
Sounds good My Lapua brass will arrive soon I suppose. It's all up to Canada Post. I will still as suggested grade the IVI and load a few us just because lol. Thanks for the advise people.
