Just wondering if anyone had ever shot an IVI ammo through their Norc M14's or Valmet M78? I'm sure it's perfectly safe to shoot it through Valmet:D, but what about Norcs?

"...not the most accurate..." Never was either. Reliable, but not made for accuracy. It's never been released for sale to the public either.
"...Because its for Machine Guns..." Now, it is, sure. However, the same ammo was used in all CF rifles and MGs before the switch to the pop gun. There never has been rifle ammo and MG ammo. That'd confuse the 'log wogs'. Likely the PBI too.

"...until some log wog..." Only the paperwork. Officers have people to get into a tizzy for them. It's what NCO's are for.

Bear in mind folks that to the best of my knowledge, no IVI 7.62mm ammunition has ever been sold legally on the public market.

If you're in posession of it, then you are almost certainly in posession of stolen government property.

There was some 5.56mm IVI ammo in the 90's that was sold south of the border when it failed to meet specs, but I've never heard of 7.62 IVI coming out that way.

Not true, it was issued to the DCRA and PRA's for practice and competition. Lots of it still kicking around along with some DA:eek:

I didn't said it has ever been sold, I just said there is some still kicking around. Sometimes the yearly allotment wasn't fired off completely and there was no way of returning live ammo or brass through the PRA's.

"legal" cdn military ammo

There was some small lots of 7.62 sold in the early 1980's--purchased some through my local dealer--was legal sale and was DA 64 and 65 headstamp--and also there was from time to time some small lots that came available through DCRA--not sure if they were "legal" or not.,

I talked to an Ammunition Tech once, they said that they do just sell the brass for scrap, even the good lapua ####!

Too bad...

I have seen old IVI .303 British stuff floating around here. Its been a few years though.
