The 13" MR308 is officially in the catalogue and displayed on the show floor. Both MR308 and MR223 are switching to the slim line hand guard as the standard now.

The 11" MR223 - both MR308 and MR223 have cold hammer forged chrome lined barrels.

The new hand guard is longer than the old railed hand guard. The original fold down front sight attached to the gas block is replaced by rail mounted front site.

Rear sling loop is standard now

The HKey mounting slots appear to need thicker handguard wall than the keypad. Note that full length rails at both 6 and 12.

Wish we could buy the rest of the HK products too.. that you just can't get in Canada - shwag, parts, mags, BUIS.. even a hat is rare commodity. Why so scarce? simple demand?

You can get all the goodies you are looking for (except mags) from North Sylva. The only catch is that they have to be ordered from HK Germany and that process usually takes about 6 months.

MR308 is chrome lined too... another difference is the buttstock -on the G- you used to get the a DMR style with cheek riser, no longer on the MR-

I didn't know they pulled the g28 stock kit from the mr308. Add that to the list i guess. Also didn't know about the chrome lining. Or is that for the usa models?
 
The Mr308 with G28 handguard and stock is still in HK 2017 catalogue. Like I said, steel receiver, G28 flash suppressor and suppressor gas block is what g28 z is about , along with the proper optic package.

The MR308 is a solid 1MOA rifle with factory match ammo. That is why the G28 is based on the MR 308 , not the HK417

HK 417 - military/LE, full auto bolt and barrel extension.
HK MR308 HK commercial anywhere but US, made in Germany. Barrel Thread size is 15X1 HK standard. Semi Auto bolt carrier and barrel extension
HK MR762 HK USA commercial, some parts are machined in the US from German materials. Semi Auto bolt carrier and barrel extension.

The barrels between MR and the Gov/LE models are different. They are all chrome lined now, but there are subtle differences I suspect in the way they are chambered and crowned.
