IWI Jericho 941F Surplus

You could do worse for a first gun, and if you don't like it you will likely get close to what you paid easy enough.

I started a thread last year on this topic. Here is the link. In my opinion they are fantastic and you will not regret it. If you have a specific question let me know.

I was able to get my 941 for 439.99 and then sent it to Black Box Customs for a cerakote job. This firearm is a treat to shoot. Super accurate and I have never had a FTF or FTE.

I have let several people at my range shoot it and all of them had no issues with it. It has one of the smaller grip circumferences so even people with small hands do not have a problem.

I have had a new one , and it was as good as anything I have had, it had a hammer drop ,on the slide, these have a safety on the frame.
For a target gun , don't really matter, I am use to that , same as a 1911 type.
I also have a used one, I bought off a member here a few yrs back, so don't know the origin, but it is also a great pistol, same as a CZ 75 at 1/2 the cost.
It is converted to single action, barrel is not great.
I think all the last surplus one that have came in are single action only, not DA/SA like the CZ75, and the new one was SA/DA.
But I have also had the Beretta 92 surplus, and they look like new barrels.
Those are a good buy, but I find the grips quite large for me, so never been a fan of the 92's, have had a couple over the years.
I don't have a problem with used guns, but some like new.
I think you would like them, the plastic bit on the trigger guard looks silly, mine don't have that.

Thanks for the replies guys! What the appeal was to me was the price, along with the fact that if they are good enough for police/military use, then technically they should be good enough for me! RPAL in the mail, so trying to figure out my first pistol purchase and they caught my eye.

Thanks for the link, I will check out that thread!

A number of friends have them, and I have to say, these pistols are performers from what I have seen.

It's arguably the easiest 9mm to shoot accurately that I own. I believe the only downside to them is that they are a bit of an assembled jigsaw puzzle. Once parts begin to fail, the pistol may become problematic to keep it going.

The only thing you have to watch , if you take the safety out to do a take down, make sure you lift the sear spring out of its notch on the lever or it will break.
I needed some springs and small parts , what I could not make ,I used sear and trigger springs from a Tanfoglio, pistol Freedom Venture had some , that was a couple yrs ago.
the safety is a pita to get back together , I had to make a part and used a bic lighter flint spring cut down as that and the plunger was missing.

Ugh, I have nightmares about that safety detent. I'd forgotten what a pain in the ass that was.

I bought my factory railed Jericho 941 back in 2012 and man: that gun has done me well over the years. Still the go-to 9mm I know and trust best.

I have one, I replaced the sights with Mepro night sights. its shoots good but every once in while when inserting a full mag when the slide is locked to the rear it auto releases and loads a round in the chamber.

I love that, I ensure all my 1911's do this. Seat the mag, and slam, bang, bob's yer uncle.

My HK P models are suppose to release the slide when a mag is inserted
If you remove the safety on these 941's , is a good idea to have a clean floor and bench, or a big bag.:runaway:
The sights where piss poor on my old one, I put some bright red on the front, Hint, if you want bright, paint with white first , than a bit of red, way better then too dark red. I was going to try to drill the front sight and insert some red or greed fiber rod I have in stock yet, but gun is sold before I got it done.
Kind of miss that one.

I got one surplus in the stainless it's the most accurate and easy to shoot 9mm I own. Mine had finish wear but looks like it was rarely fired. spare parts are available if you look around, but they are not readily available I bought a spare extractor and spring a spring kit and firing pin. think I have the slide release too. Plan ahead and have spares on hand for when you need them would be my advice.

I have about 500 rnds through mine went 300+ before cleaning it and have had zero failures.

I don't plan on taking the safety apart as it looks like a huge PITA
