Just came home and a 1954r Izhevsk SKS followed me (serial number is 3 digits!). Stock is from a 1951r Tula and the gas tube is electropenciled forcematched, the old number is scratched out. No refurb stamps. Quite a high level of workmanship, far less machining marks than my Tula SKS rifle. A worthy addition to the collection. Bore is damn near pristine, has been fired a little bit. I am quite happy! Not sure what to do with my painted SKS coming from Frontier on Wednesday... starting to have too many SKS rifles!
