I was wodering if anybody might have information regarding Canadian stocking dealer for Izhmash MODEL 7-2KO, and or Sobol
MODEL 1?
I had sent inquiry to Armrus via e-mail and tried their phone today, both without any result. The phone number does not seem to be in service any more.

Thank you for your input.

Anyone own an Izhmash 7-2KO? Any feedback etc? I have come across one, and the straight pull is neat. Which also got me onto the Browning T-Bolt... any info on that? Anyone own and would like to comment?

There are some Izhmash 7-3's around in the biathlon world. I've ordered one from Marc Sheppard in West-Yellowstone, MT (http://www.altiusguns.com/), with a custom stock... currently in transit from his shop to Questar.

I don't think there is a Canadian dealer/distributor.

Thanks... but I had already seen these... would you please describe the rifles accuracy, feel, how you like the straight pull, if you have handled a Browning T Bolt and how they would compare (if you know)... thanks Speckfire.

Accuracy?? The rifle is dead boring. I can shoot almost in the same hole at 50m the whole day using the appropriate ammo. (Lapua Master M does it for me :))
The trigger is adjustable so its hair sensitive. The Straight pull action is wonderful. The rifle moves very little when cycling spent ammo and you can stay on target the whole time.

I have not used a browning T bolt so I'm sorry I cannot compare :(

+1 on the accuracy... As long as you don't expect to beat the guys with the Anschutz super match rifle, you'll do fine.

I haven't played with the new Browning T-Bolt, but when compared to the older T-bolt, it is much smoother/faster to operate.

Where can you find one?
- Your best bet is Questar. I haven't seen a new one in Canada in years... You might also be able to pick a used one on a biathlon website.

I can import a new Izhmash for a total of about $750 (that's import and shipping), and wanted to get a feel for what it is like before I outlayed the money and waited the weeks and wekks...

The Browning T Bolt Sporter is readily available for $590 (plus tax), but I have not seen a Varmint/Target in stock and for sale... likely about $650 maybe?

Thanks for the info... being good looking, different, and accurate is a good thing. I am trying to decide what to do by the end of next week, after I have looked around a bit. I also would love to be able to have it in hand so I can start shooting... that's the only problem with importing.
