J-lock removal on a Remington 700 - which parts?

I have heard that I could replace the J-lock by buying a new bolt shroud part, others say I need a new firing pin too.
Anyone know for sure?
The J-lock is the pain in the ass internal lock.
 
I assume you intended this post for the 'Hunting & Sporting Arms' thread.

I went to a lightweight Gretan pin/spring/shroud to convert a couple of mine based on
Tod Bartell's recommendations. Much better ! About an $ 80 touch.
 
I think if you call 866-662-4867 (?) which is The Gravel Agency (Remington's warranty center in Canada) and tell them you are having trouble with that "J" trigger... Remington may replace it with a regular trigger at no cost (other than shipping of course). No Guarantee but worth a shot.
