I know nothing about shotguns. The creature is virtually mint, gorgeous, tight lock-up, hammerless 12 gauge 'J.P. Clabrough & Sons London and Birmingham'. Beautiful engraving, beautiful damascus barrels, and I have no idea under the sun what it's worth. Any ideas?

Go to Google and type in the makers name. A cursory search turned up lots of images and information so with some time and effort, you should be able to answer your own question.

Hard to give a value. Your mint condition might be very good or less to someone else and really it is the buyer who ultimately decides if it is indeed mint. Also, is it mint original or mint restored? Any modifications? If restored, have the barrels been honed or the chambers/forcing cones legthened? Does it function as it should? Clabrough had different models so we need to know the model. And although Clabroughs were of decent quality, they don't fetch the price that some other British makers do.That being said, I have Clabrough's top of the line box lock damascus barreled gun from around 1904. It has full coverage engraving. I had the exterior of the damascus barrels refinished. What I place its value at and what I could get in this country are 2 entirely different things. I'd like to think it is worth $2500.00. Truth is I'd probably have a hard time breaking $1500.00. There s a lot of misinformation surrounding damascus barreled guns. Most won't pay much for a damascus barreled gun and the vintage double market in this country is small to start with. But back to your gun, we need to know more and see pics. But if even mint, don't expect to break the $2000.00 point very easily. You also have to be careful with online prices. Those prices mean nothing in Canada unless you are looking at guns that were sold here.

Thanks for the answers guys. An internet search is always my first stop, but there isn't much around by way of consistent answers. I'll try to get some photos.
