Jacket dilemma

Hi

I am going away in a few days to a training weekend for the GB Cadet target rifle team. It is an introductory weekend, with the final trip a trip to Canada to shoot against the Canadian Cadets in the summer. I am British, but am also part Canadian.

I have two jackets, one is a jacket I used last season for fullbore and the more recent jacket for smallbore. The latter jacket is REALLY tight with a longsleve t-shirt and turtleneck top underneath and has proven to work very well for smallbore. I am thinking of possibly purchasing a shooting undergarment from one of the shops at Bisley to possibly increase its stability.

The old fullbore jacket was one I was used to with my old fullbore RPA rifle to great effect, though I had to pad it out with a couple of t shirts and a hoodie to keep it tight.
I have now purchased my own barnard mastin rifle so I will be effectively starting from scratch in buildng my position whichever jacket I choose.

Do I choose the old jacket, the one I was most used to in shooting fullbore, or the newer tighter jacket, the one I have been using recently for smallbore?

Thanks, Nick

I have 2 jackets. One a heavy leather Champions Choice jacket, the other an Anschutz double canvas(haven't really tried it yet). Under the jacket I wear a shooting sweater and T-Shirt. For the last two years I haven't bothered doing the jacket up while shooting. This make me more comfortable and allows for easier breathing. My scores have gone up.
I purchased the double canvas jacket for smallbore practice and to take it Bisley this summer, trying to save some airline weight. Until I can get some time shooting fullbore with the canvas jacket, I will wait to decide which jacket goes to England.

There is a well-respected maker who has been active in furnishing equipment to cadets on both sides of the pond (centerthegroup.com/contact_info.htm). His products will meet the legal requirements for different disciplines.

I don't have one of his jackets, but he is my first choice for when I decide to buy one.

Use the new one, if it works for rf it will work for cf even better. How do you like the Barnard? We are the Canadian Barnard dealer and the Canadian cadet rifles you will see in red and white use our stocks.
