was walking out to my range to shoot my 223 and out behind a rock jumped a huge rabbit! he ran about 150 yards out and i took aim an shot. i thouhgt i missed because it ran of like nothing happend. i went to look over to see if i shot him and over on the other side of the hill (my shooting range is in a coolie) he was laying! i couldnt belive it that had to be 100 yards away. i went over and skinned him out. the bullet when right behind the sholder and came out in fromn of his other sholder. leathel shot and i was supprised he went so far. i guess i was using fmj but with over 1000 ftlbs behind the bullet you think it could drop a rabbit. anyways i cooked up his backstaps tonight. i soaked them in sal####er with vinigar. wrapped them up in bacon cooked them for about 40 minurtes at 375 and they were soooo good. didnt have a bacon tasest but tasted like deer with a smokey tases. anyways first time i ever had rabbit and i would love to have it again!

Nice shooting. Love the taste of rabbit.

I used to make oriental-styled stir-frys with rabbit. Then the coyotes came........

The German Hasppenfeffer recipes are pretty good on these large hares.
Just lay off the vinegar as much as the recipe calls for. Us North Americans usually don't have that much vinegar in our regular diet.

...and one should simmer that jacka bit longer than 40 minutes for melt in your mouth goodness:D
