I've found my stainless 10/22 tends to jam very frequently with American Eagle 38 grain hollow points. I've just finnished the two cartons I had, and thought I'd see what jams the least in these guns before I tried something else.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Ryan

That strange because the american eagle 38 grain HP's seem to work the best in my stainless barrel.

Try Winchester power points. They seem to work well for me.

Yesterday, went through about 300 rounds. Jammed about 15 times. More than slightly annoying.

My rifle hates all CCI ammo and some remington, my buddies loves what mine hates. It all depends on YOUR gun... trick is to buy anything you can get you hands on and see what cycles best, next do the same for what groups best.

jamming

haven't shot a 10/22 in ages but i know that u must clean the gun after about 400 rounds.after 500 u will get all kinds of jams.22 ammo is very dirty...

in my 10/22, the hollow point itself seems to always catch on the chamber edge, then kink the shell!
dunno if anyone elses does this
btw, my old bc bull barrel was a little more picky than my new gm fluted blued bull
it all probably boils down to the dreaded bc banana mags, but i can't stop using them, their too addictive:)

10/22 Jams

I used Winchester Wildcats and, while they were relatively accurate, they jammed all the time. (Failure to feed.) I thought it was my 10/22 until I switched to Federal Lightnings. I have never had a problem using them. I lent the gun for an afternoon (supervised of course) to some young shooters and they went through 500 rounds with no problems. It seems to be what your 10/22 prefers.

Like cannonfodder asked....It would help if we knew what type of jams you are getting. an extractor will not cure a failure to feed or failure to fire problem.
