Hi,
On saturday january 17th i was out coyote hunting for the second time this season, minus 38, 5kmh north west wind. Walking down the field we saw a few coyotes tracks going west in a little wood patch, but there were horses between us and the wood so we decided to ignore it and follow the plan and hunt closer to the bottom of the field. 2 calling sequence with distress call didn't bring any yote so we decided to move toward the other side of the wood patches were the tracks were going. Second stand, 30 seconds distress call then a 5 minutes pause, and another 30 seconds call and wait... after one minute of pause that 49 pounds male appeared in front of us a little bit over 200 yards. Just had time to scope him then he started to run toward us, tried to stop him at 100 yards whitout success, he never stop looking at our position, then at approx 40 yards my friend got him to stop with a lip squeak. I took a first shot with my .223 loaded with 25.5 grain of H333 and 55 grain V-Max ballistic tip. Shot placement wasn't great so he spun, had to give him 2 other shots whiling he was spinning.
