Thanks guys. Any idea what caused the blotted like finish wear on the right side of the P38? I would figure moisture but its on the side facing away from the body in the holster.

It's a 1942 gun; lots of time to get used...... and carried out in the open.

Human sweat contains SALT. Clean off a salty area and it is entirely possible for the finish to be damaged. Put it away for a while, it comes out slightly rusty so you clean it off. ZIP: finish running away.

My guess, anyway.

Great pics of a superb collection. Thanks for posting.

Are you going to put together a Canadian collection? British?

I would like to eventually get a No4 with Enfield No2 - Then an M1 and 1911A1.

I've got a No.4 and a pair of No.2's. Still looking for a web holster to go with the revolvers.

It'll be a long time before I can afford an M1 and a K98 though...

Nice! How do you like the No.2? I have owned and fired several No.4's, but never a No.2. As well there is a nice looking RC Kar98 on the EE right now, little high in price but worth a haggle...

Very nice! That Arisaka is spectacular. I have only seen a few in that condition.

Thanks for sharing!

To be honest I have re stocked the Type 99. I have the original stock, its in brutal shape, used very heavily for sure. Has some burn marks and cracks in it - when I initially stripped it I found grass, lots of sand, dirt and grime. I keep that stock tucked away and will always keep it with the rifle. I re stocked it to shoot it once or twice.
