JC Higgins model 29

Hi Guys
I just got a realy nice model 29 JC Higgins complete with the origional scope. I would like to mount a 1"tube scope on the rifle as the scope is trashed. The dovetail is only 11mm?? not the usual 3/8 ". Anyone know where and what rings are available?

All manner of rings available. My favorites are "kwik site" high rings so I can use the original sights too. Just be certain, when you're shopping, to watch for "rimfire" and not "weaver" style. Your favorite shop, Can-tire, Wallymart, and many more should them on shelves. 1" tube seems to be the "standard" these days so nothing hinky there.

If you buy a "rimfire" scope, it could very well come with rings.

The common rimfire rings fit a 3/8 inch dovetail, the dovetail on the model 29 is a lot smaller 11mm I think. I can't seem to locate rings for a 11mm dovetail. The other option is a 7/8 inch tube scope and use the rings from the origional but I would much prefer a 1 inch scope.

I have the mod 30,same problem. I found a cheap pair of the 3/8 "see thru" rings
that was made -up of two halves and filed down the area where they came together. It took a while to file them down but I tried to keep them flat and even. Worked out great.
