Jeff Cooper review of the Mini 14

He sure didn't like the M-16 it seems. Too bad. I have a lovely Mini that sports a guarded front sight with an AR-15 type flash hider in a slightly shortened Hogue over molded stock that shoots quite well, not as accurate as any of my AR's but fed the proper ammunition, can usually shoot better than I can.

So and old timer liked an old time design...There is no way in Hades I would ever pick a Mini 14 over an AR/M16 for anything, except under our wonky firearms laws. And I don't think Cooper knew a heck of a lot about the M16 either.

Even at the time, from which we've moved forward about half a century.

Someone saying Garand style actions are more reliable than a professional AR is good for a chuckle though, and he admits he didn't give the mini a tough testing.
