You know what they say about opinions
I bought one a few months ago. I like the gun very much; however there are a few things that bother me about it. This is probably a personal thing, but I don't really care for the slide mounted decocker. I would much rather have a frame mounted safety. I would rather not fire my first shot double action, and I find having the decocker on the slide makes it harder to rack the slide. My second issue, and this affects aesthetics aswell as, I believe, functioning. I have a 40 and it is a magazine issue I have noticed on the only two pistols I have handled. It also varies from magazine to magazine, and that is, when the mag is fully seated there is a space of about 3/16" of an inch, or more, between the base of the pistol grip/magazine well, and the plastic mag bumper or magazine base. That space is not static, meaning that if you push on the base of the magazine you can push it up to close that gap, but when one lets go the mag springs back down to its original position with the space. When one pushes up on the magazine there is spring tension, because the follower is being compressed. Under normal circumstances one does not rest the butt of the pistol on anything while firing, but I would imagine, only guessing of course because I haven't tried it, that if you rest the butt on a surface while firing, forcing the mag further into the well, thus compressing the follower, one could very well cause feed issues. The only 9mm I have handled did not have this magazine issue. You may think I'm being picky, but anything that might affect functioning is a no no with me. While I'm on a roll, the other issue with the magazine is that it is sloppy, and rattles around in the magazine well; however this is only noticeable when the slide is not on the pistol. This is only an aestetics issue with me, and likely the reason for the the loose fit is probably, because this is a combat pistol, and one would not like to have the magazine hang up, because it fits too snugly in the well. Just me being picky. A couple more things while I am at it. I would like if it had solid pins holding it together rather than roll pins, but that's just minor. Finally I like traditional cut rifling rather that polygonal rifling. I know it works, at least with jacketed bullets, but it's kind of disturbing to look down the barrel and not see rifling, or at least traditional rifling. Oh ya, one more thing, and this is a common complait from anyone that reloads. The casings eject from the pistol like they have wings, and they don't land nearby. All except for the last round, of course. That one sometimes just drops out of the ejection port, and when examined, one can see that it is quite damaged. Don't know why it does that sometimes. That's just my gun, of course. Don't know about the rest.
OK, now that I'm finished writing about everything I don't like, let me tell you what I do like about it. First of all it's steel, has a nice weight in the hand, and is very ergonomic, as well as exibiting very natural pointability, and easy sight aquisition. Trigger pull is much better than the CZ 97B I own. At least the single action pull is better. Double action is comparable. Both could benefit from trigger work. Another thing I really like about the trigger is that in double action mode I can easily reach it, and my finger sits perfectly on the trigger. My hands are on the small side, though the controls are easily reachable. I like the integral accessory rail in case I ever want to mount a light ore laser on the pistol. Probably won't but it's nice to have the option. I like the finish on the pistol, and I haven't noticed any premature wear though I haven't done much with it like puting it in and taking it out of a holster. Mainly because it's so difficult to find a holster for this pistol. Most holster manufactures ignore this pistol, and that really bugs me. One last thing. I really like the looks of this pistol. I can't see how anyone could call it ugly, though some people do.
In closing, even though the paragraph of likes is shorter than the one for dislikes, my pros are really more than my cons, and I would reccomend this pistol.
