I have a Stevens 200 as my go to rifle and would like to add some class to it. I have already painted it, yada, yada but I would like to jewel the bolt. I was going to get my father to help me as he is a machinist however my question is.
Where the name is etched onto the bolt should I try and go deep enough with the engine turning that I remove it or should I just go around the lettering and leave it alone. I don't mind the name but would prefer if i could take it off. However if it is going to be too much of a problem I will leave it.
Has anyone else done this/experienced this? I would really appreciate the input.
