I just installed a Jewell HVR trigger on my Rem700P and just wanted to encourage anyone who is contemplating doing this that is easy.

I'm not particuarly handy, knowledgable or equipped but it went like a snap.

Two hex bolts, two pins, one spring and 30 mins and you're done.

So if you're thinking of not doing it or sending it to a smith, don't be afraid to grip it and rip it.

PS - The new trigger feels gorgeous!

PSS - If anyone in Winnipeg has a trigger pull scale they can loan out for a night (perhaps in exchange for a six pack of pop) you'd be saving me $100. Lemme know.

I am glad it went well for you but they don't all go in easy! Especially the Winchester M70 models, some of the installs require machining clearances in the stock or trigger guards and they are far from a breeze to install. I have installed a few Jewells and speak from experience.

Good Luck

GSoD, Go to Wallmart or Crappy Tire and buy a Repala digital fish scale for about 20 bucks, get the small one.

If anybody wants $100 for a trigger pull guage, they're pirates. Like XTB-21 says, a fish scale will do. You're measuring less than 10 pounds and that is too much. Make an extension out of a wire coat hanger.
"...in exchange for a six pack of pop..." What colour is the bottle? snicker.

interested in purchasing the jewel trigger too. My rem 700 sendero 2 needs it. WHERE CAN I GET 1
THANKS BOYS

With your cocked and unloaded rifle pointed up right, tie a string loop around the trigger and the other end around a jug. Slowly fill the jug with sand, shot or pop until the trigger breaks and then weigh the whole works.
