Hello,

Does anyone know where/who or if I can get a new mag tube so I can get an extra shell over the factory 4, 2 3/4"? Its chambered for 3" so I was hoping there may be aftermarket parts so I could get 4, 3" shells in there, or 5, 2 3/4.

Any direction is appreciated!

The Mossberg 940 JM Pro has delrin/plastic plugs in the tube mag extension. You can move the position of them and get a longer spring in order for the shotgun to hold 5 in the tube mag. All they did for the 940 JM Pro's in Canada was the plugs and shorter spring in the mag tube in order to satisfy the 5 cartridges for most magazines designed for a semi-automatic, centre-fire long gun's, rule.

Thanks! I'll look into that. I'm assuming the spring tweak would have to be pretty particular/precise or do you think just a longer mag tube spring would suffice. I wouldn't want to cause any feed issues.

If you are moving the plug just enough to get one more in the tube, the installed spring might be enough. If there is 10-12" (20-30cm) or spring extending out the mag tube when you remove the tube extension then that should be good, and not cause feeding issues. If not, replacement springs are easy to get and not expensive. They usually come in 1 meter lengths. You just put the spring in the mag tube (with the shotgun pointing up), measure 12" / 30cm from the tube end, add length to plug in the extension, and cut the spring to that length (basically tube mag follower to plug length plus 12" / 30cm).

Thanks for the detailed info. Any advice on moving the plug? Just a punch and a hammer type idea?

On the Mossberg extension the plugs are roll crimped to keep them in place.

Would be interested in hearing if anyone has moved the plug successfully. I went with the 930 extension.

I moved/removed them successfully. Just be observant of the mag tube capacity after you move it in order to stay within the capacity limits for a semi-auto shotgun.
