John Inglis and Small Arms Ltd WW2 and "Obersalzburg Berghof" youtube

Very interesting, what's the story with the old car inside the Inglis factory? I'm surprised that no car collector stole it!!

Thanks for posting

Ahh...Obersalzberg. Man I miss Bavaria. I toured the Eagles Nest and the remains of the bunkers around the Berghof when I was vacationing in Bertchesgaden in 2008. Best little spot in the world. And best Hofbrauhaus i have ever been to (and I have been in A LOT). I want to move there if there was a job waiting for me.

It was full of s**t in there.
If I remember correctly there was a train in the corner that looked like it was used in the Toronto Santa Parade from days gone by.

Looked like a temporary hostel for anyone that walked by also.

Obersalzburg was taken in the summer of 2007.

I managed to bring back my pride and joy from there, a brick from the Berghof.
Come to think of it, I have a brick each from Inglis and Long Branch Small Arms ltd.

I spent several days touring the Obersalzburg area and many hours around the Berghof grounds.

Yes, and the best Weisswurst lunch I had was in Berchtesgaden.

It was kind of surreal at times.
If I had standing there 60 odd years ago, my life expectancy would have been very short, even if I made it that far.

A buddy gave me some WW2 German songs to bring along on my Ipod.
They where a blazing as we cruzed the area.

Yah, Yah, we did get some funny looks, but we lived the moment.

When I cruz the WW1 Battlefields, my WW1 tunes always go along for the ride.

There is nothing like driving threw Vimy and downtown Ypres, Belgium playing the original, "It's a Long Way to Tipperary"

I think that I will be heading back to Belgium and Northern France this Sept 2010.
It is just like it's calling me.
