As the title states. What is up here in Canada for Johnson 1941 Light Machine Guns? I know of only one 12.2 and one 12.3. Is there any parts available? Any deactivated ones? I assume it's ridiculous to even ask but you never know.

I saw a regular 1941 in a gun shop the other day... I was a bit surprised to say the least. I am impressed you have seen not one but two of the even more rare LMGs.

Johnson rifles, LMGs, and DROR's are all in this country in modest quantities. You won't see much mention of them on this site as they are mostly in the hands of older folks who aren't all up on this newfangled "internet" thing.

When I was a kid attending shows and auction 30 years ago, I want to say the Johnson's I saw come and go were about 800 bucks. They all seem to be about 5 times that price now.

Of course, Garands have gone from being $200 guns to $2000 guns in the same time frame, so I guess the Johnsons represent a deal.

There was a time when these could be purchased from Interarms. Saw an as new US Johnson at a show in London ON, in the display of a chap who made quite a name for himself publishing firearm reference books.
There are probably more 12-3 Drors around than US Johnsons; these would have been imported by Marstar, I believe.

I had the opportunity to fire a Johnson LMG a few years ago in Montana and I can understand why the First Special Service Force and USMC Paramarines preferred it over the B.A.R.

I have seen a couple deactivated Dror LMGs mocked up to resemble Johnson LMGs, or in some cases Drors being mistaken as Johnson LMGs, here in Canada, but actual Johnson LMGs are VERY rare this side of the border.

I have been looking for a 12.3 Johnson LMG for almost 20 years and have yet to see one for sale......

I have a 41 j and they aren't worth it in my opinion also have some mags for a DROR if anyone needs some

Why don't you like it?
I think it's a very innovative rifle without the added complexity of a gas system, magazine that can be topped up even with the bolt closed and a round in the chamber, barrel is easy to replace. Before magazine restriction to 5 rounds it would hold 3 more rounds than the M1.Hey,mine even has two barrels, one 30-06,the second one in 7.62x51.

I think the main problem with Johnson 41's is, most of the Marine Corps one's were dumped in the
South Pacific when they were replaced with m1 garand rifles. That cut down on what is available.

I have three Johnson LMG mags for sale, pinned to five, I have given up ever finding an LMG to use them in here in Canada. Of course I would purchase a Johnson LMG if that was the only way to see the mags used. :)
