The liberal party said there are only a small number of sport shooters in Canada who use handguns.
Solution to that would be more numbers of handgun owners to start shooting, or become members of sport shooting organizations.
Try getting into IPSC, IDPA, CAS, PPC, CPCA, Olympic handgun shooting, etc.....
Your membership in any of there organizations may show that we are not a minority.

Why play by their rules? I don't see any need to prove that I have a legitimate need for my handguns by joining some group in order to be a "target shooter". I have mine because I can.

HUNH?
Well if you don't see the logic of joining a organizing handgun shooting organization, then don't....
The numbers of shooters that use handguns for sporting activities is something that may have been looked at before the Liberal Party made there BS announcement. It will also be looked at in the future.....or could be used to present to local political representatives, media, etc....to show what the legitmate uses of handguns!!!

YOU would not be playing by their rules, you would be exploiting their rules, and using it against them!

I'll cosign that my brother!

ME ME ME!!, I, I , I!

Why should I do this, why should I do that!?!
...because they are specifically targeting you as a handgun owner! I can ##### and complain all I want, but what would that do? WHY Not-join a club or organization!?

Do you know of any other way to show unity and support amongst handgun owners??

You will be the first to have nothing, the more members approved target ranges have the bigger voice we have.
Every piece of documentation that you have declaring you are target shooter will make your legal case that much stronger if needed, ie 'registered on file at the CFC as reason for owning said handgun "target shooting" and they approve this reason, it will make the owness on them to prove that you are not a target shooter. You only get ATT`s for 'target shooting' to approved target ranges anyway .
So if your not a 'target shooter' how did you get a ATT for restricted`s?

Ranges and clubs give us a more visual existance to the general public. I'm not a pistol owner to compete. It relaxes me, it's my hobby.Bu I'll still join as many cubs and associations as I can afford. They are our united voices fighting for our rights.Just my thoughts though.

When I went through the Restricted course, I was under the assumption that the only lawful reason a civvie can have a handgun, was for target shooting. The Libs are aware of this. They can give a flying fig if you belong to 1 or 15 shooting sport organizations.

I think we should turn our attention to a new tactic.

You have two options for owning a restricted right now, 1 as a 'collector' or 2 as a 'target shooter' .

I don`t give a flying fig what paul martin thinks either but it was his government that brought in the current 2 billion dollar CFC rules and designations. I never was asked by the CFC if I was a olympic target shooter, I was asked by a agent of the CFC if I was a, collector or a target shooter.

This is not a plan or anything this is a last resort of 400 000 legal cases disputing target shooter designation when the government has all along accepted you as a target shooter.

I think that the libs expected with C-68 that there would be many of us who wouldn't join certified ranges and clubs, and they could get rid of most of the handguns with out further conflict. To me it seems that this didn't exactly go as they had planned, which has been proven by the esculating number of members belonging to clubs and associations. I as well don't think they care how many organizations I belong to, but I do believe that they care how many members our organizations retain year after year. I don't buy memberships to comply with libs, I join to defy them. They count on us not to follow thier guidelines, that just justifies their programs.
Once again, just my $0.02
