My wife wanted a simple, tough, quick, and easy to use sight for her 20 gauge 870 when using slugs. Since it's got a picatinny rail I bit the bullet and ordered a J P Enterprises Short Range Tactical Sight for her to try.
First good news was that I roughly boresighted it and was expecting to tweak it out in the woods, but shockingly she was hitting bullseyes with winchester 20g rackmaster slugs right off the bat with no adjustment. (IC extended choke)
For fun I tried it but for me it was hitting 1" high and 1" left. I'll stick with my EOTech.
Second good news was that she loved it.
I used an AR15 sight wrench to boresight it and changed out the front post to yellow when it arrived. It comes with a few different colors. Easy to mount and it seems tough.
I threw a few clays for her to try and she was able to dust them using the sight as well. I'm trying to think of something negative but I guess the price is all there is. It works well, she likes it a lot, and I never have to worry about sighting that gun again, so even though the price is a bit steep I have peace of mind that she's got a capable shotgun set up for life.
