I just picked up my new JR Carbine from Wanstalls late last week. I decided I'd give it a cleaning before taking it out for the first time. Following the directions, I loosened the castle nut and spun the stock off. Then I noticed the receiver plate wasn't movable and was jammed in the threads of the buttstock tube. Tyring to free the plate up it bent very easily.
Man, I'm not impressed. I looked at removing the buttstock assembly to get at the bolt was going to be a minor inconvenience, not a source of frustration before I even got to fire the carbine. I didn't think it was a big deal at first as I have a spare AR carbine stock assemby and figured I'd just replace it for the time being while I had the other one replaced. WRONG! The tubes aren't the same length as a standard mil-spec carbine unit and I can't see it being usable under the circumstances.
I seem to have absolutely zero luck with new firearms lately. Out of the (5) that I've bought, (4) of them are broke or aren't working properly. I'm not hard on gear by any means. Just bad luck it would seem.
Hopefully, Gary will give me a hand sorting this warranty situation out.
