Hey, hoping for a bit of advice before I go crazy over here.I just picked up a new JR carbine in 45 yesterday(was told the issues had been fixed on the new models)I got it out for a test fire today and had nothing but issues. The gun would fire fine a couple times and then jam.....every time.

For some reason the round would stand straight up in the mag, which in turn would send the bolt against mid case, making a nice ding/hole.

Now I should also add, I was using the only ammo I could get my hands on locally which was Norinco.I have never used the crap before but is it possible this was the main problem?

Any info would be much appreciated, this is driving me nuts!

mine is doing the same. 40 s&w, new model, tried winchester white box jhp, tried federal fmj, and gold dot. all the same jam, stovepipe, total fcuked cases rammed into the chamber

Ya I gave er a look, spring appears fine. The website has posted that the mags the new 45's come with already have the fix done, also.....Not sure what the heck to do!

I hope this question doesn't hijack this thread but, I'm buying one of these next week for my daughter and here I read about problems with the 45 ACP and .40 S&W how about recent model 9mm?

Yup 9mm seems to be great.I just really wanted the 45, and was told all was well with it.

Waiting for a call back from JRC so hopfully they have an idea on a fix!

my 9mm model was doing the same thing with the ammo. i took the rifle apart cleaned it really good. i also took the time and made sure the feed ramp was really clean my was dirty out of the box didnt clean it good enough now it works fine.

I sent back my .45 model and traded it in for the 9mm. Nothing but issues with the .45 of which none of the suggested fixes worked. I haven't had a single problem with the 9mm model of which I've put through about 300 rounds so far.

Have now done everything suggested and will try it out in a few hours and report back.I really hope the problems are solved!

Definitely sounds mag related, but alot of people are talking spring. It's also possible there is an issue with the lips on the top of the mag, not tight enough so the rounds arent held firmly in place. If they are new I would definitely get ahold of the company and see what they can do for you. Hope you get it working.

Well, dicked around with the mag and gave the gun a super clean before testing this time and still had the same issue.I am receiving a call from the gunsmith at JR on Monday and contacted my place of purchase as well to let them know of the issues.I am tempted to go and purchase a new mag to see if that is indeed causing all of this however being a student it was hard enough saving for the gun, I'm not sure I can justify buying anything else right now-nor do I feel I should have to.

Anyways, hopfully between the manufacturer and the dealer I purchased from, this will get resolved one way or another and I can forget all about the headache this has turned into!

^^^Hoping for just that.

Would certainly be a huge relief if that was the issue, don't want to get my hopes up though.

Does epps handle the warranty service in Canada? I am not sure how all of this works. My past purchases have all gone smooth.
