JR Carbine troubles!

The AR-15 despite the internet BS, is hard to get to fire full auto, either by accident or design. Hammer follow due to broken parts tends to be insufficient to ignite the primer, and often would happen out of battery.

My guess is what you experienced was a bump fire.

Yeah, it's not a big deal. Most folks just don't really want this type of issue posted about, as it gives people the fear that the gurus at the CFC may opt to reclassify it due to it's ability to become a kitten eating, world destroying, FA. Any semi can have this issue for a multitude of reasons, I understand your desire to find out what went wrong. Thank you for not titling your thread "OMG My Gun Went FA!!!!".

Like I said, never happened. :D

That said, these guns are pretty new, aren't they? Can't be a whole lot of wear on your rifle's parts yet.

Could be a slam fire. I've had it with an AR15, M16A1 and an AUG. All have floating firing pins. It's very rare though.
