Sorry fo the "caps" ain't yellin just copied from word doc.
Bring extra ammo as shooters can participate in "Poker Shoot" while targets being scored from match.Cleanning station and reloading benches available
for those that need them.Targets back from printers and "will be interesting".
A testing was done on these and the resulting comment
-fairly easy at 100 unless you get greedy
-200 yrd -a little more challenging and the winds come into play Hostages get very nervous
-300 yards and the TCRC Wind Snakes can ensure some poor hostages ain't gonna make it home.Gambling could help out but no way to runaway over bad windcalls.
Was going to post a few Target samples but photobucket wouldn't accept file type so you'll just have to show up and see.
Found spotting scope and having a spotter definite help!!!!
Joe's picking up burgers and dogs for lunch so any Vegans need to pack in.
In fairness to new shooters to the club I will be placing some wind streamers around range to help decifer the TCRC Wind Snakes .

Poker Shoot will be shot if enough interest and time. All shooters throw "anti" into pot.5 shots at 100 2 at 200 and best poker hand (Hoyle) wins.
Up to 10 shooters per hand.

Visitors and spectators (non shooters)welcomed.Small fee if lunching with us.
Have some prebooked already.Call or showup at 8am
Hope to see you there.

Sounds like a great spread , Gord. I would turn up, but your steady shooting intimidates me. I already get my ass kicked by my wife, and then you beat my butt.

RePete.

That IS the size of the target Terry:eek: Come on, you are using a bi-pod for crying out loud, how big of a target do you need?:p :p :p
Never mind, you will do OK with that size target but how big of a target does everyone else need?
I will be going to the NCRRA Long Range Match in Ottawa that weekend. I need the really BIG targets.

Now that I'm starting this Precision stuff I gotta get me some of those targets.. Tell me how..

(Without shooting the match... I can't go that far right now! :( ) and I'm not that good yet still working up a load...

Target recomendations....Google search Free targets or just targets. There is LOTS and Lots of sites you can down load from.If you don't like what you see,Make up some on any Draw program.I use Corel.
Print out a master copy then take to your nearest office /copy store
If you use reg stock paper about 6 cents a copy.I like to use the heavier card stock.

Terry these targets are shown actual size for you since the real sized ones would be too easy for you.Everyone else gets regular unless Norm shows and he gets same as you.If Bob gets up here his are half your size!!!!!
Tom ,I saw that the TR sights can now have lenses in them so if you work it right will they magnify to 20 power?
Good luck at the match.Get some metals on that V Seeker!!!

Yep a lens (1.5X diopter) in the rear Or a .3X or .5X Eagle eye in the front.
Can't have both went using a sighting system that is about 300 years old, that would be cheating:eek: I am all for bringing back TR(O) Optical and let everyone use what they want. After all it is a shooting contest, not a seeing contest.

target size

Hey Gord,

I'm just an old blind shooter, why pick on me? Terry, watch out for Gord, he'll move the V ring off to the side on you!!!!!

Hope you guys have a great shoot.

The Avenging Angel,
Bob

By the way with this eye infection it is now W BullS not V Bull.
Just put he cross hair in the center of the W and hope to catch the V

Saturday fast approaches.Weather forcast...sunny hot and clouds with FRUSTRATING wind switches.Squadding commences at 8 am registration and noise begins at 9 am.
It was suggested by a few that this would be a good opportunity for those attending to include a swap/sale with match. So anyone having items of
interest to Precision Shooters may want to pack items along to the match for a "target market".
Sorry couldn't help that one.
See ya there

Had a Great time.
Met some Great people and Fantastic shooter. Thanks for hosting the event Gord looking forward to doing it again.

At 300 yards my 10X was a little light. On the other hand there was a pretty heavy mirage rolling along so I am not sure who was better off the guys with the high power scopes or my 10X. And seeing that I didn't win it had to be my equipment and not me ha-ha. Those that participated with the 20x + variables did you stay at 20+ even with the mirage or did you turn down the power to try and get a better sight picture?

Congrat goes to George for top score.

20+

Thanks For the congrats.

Always fun and I said to myself I forgot to try that obermeyer.Hope you will come to Listowell in the fall. Some great people there as well.

As to scope get an 8.5-25 leup efr and never look back. You can dial out mirage and have plenty of power when needed.Never took mine off 25X all day.

Great to meet you as well.

Big thanks to Gord, Jimmie and Joe and the range crew.Great time .

Soory for the Late post

Am STILL healin from Sat match and am getting around to just unpacking truck.
Here is a copy (small mods) that will be appearing in our newsletter.
Summary scoresheet will be either mailed or emailed as soon as I can get it all together.

TWIN CITY RIFLE CLUB
PRECISION PRONE MATCH
JULY 2006

Twin City Rifle Club hosted the first of what promises to be a regular club event on Saturday June 8th and was successful in providing a challenging FUN day for shooters. The weather was increadible adding to the challenges by providing sufficient winds for cooling comfort but enough to frustrate most shooters .To recap the match, shooters were
required to fire 15 shots at 15 challenging scoring targets from a prone position with bipod mounted rifles in a 12 minute time frame. They shot this 3 times in 100, 200 and 300 yard relays.
CONGRATULATIONS to our WINNERS!!!!!
First Place Custom Rifle…..George M. 281/363HPS
First Place Factory Rifle….Bruce C. 215/363HPS
(It was mentioned that even God wouldn’t/couldn’t shoot a HPS here)
A Special Thanks to Kevin L and Jason S for all the work
as Range Safety Officers and Target Management Crew and
to Joe and Jim for all the background work and assistance.
A summary scoresheet of all shooters is being sent to all attendees.

Following the match and BBQ a relay of Poker Shooting was completed and a 3 way tie (Royal Flush in spades) split the pot. (I’ll fix that weak spot for the next go round)

As an organizer of this match it was my intention of providing a social FUN day of competitive shooting and to promote our sport. It was great to see familiar and new faces and to note that even MORE women have joined our ranks. Thanks to all attendees and I look forward to seeing you all again at future events.
Sincerely
Gord
Ont0001

PS I have heard an individual at the match is volunteering to host the second
of these Prone Precision Shoots. In that light I will be having a MATCH Winner Placque designed and permanently affixed to a place of prominance at the club recognizing the winner 's name and score for record. Both George and Bruce will have the honour of appearing at the top of what I hope will be a long list over the coming years.
Thanks again to all
