July Purchases

Finished paying for my Lee Enfield No4 Mk1. Will have pics when I get it. Bought some clips, bandoleers, and screws for a K98. Started payments on a K98 and SVT-40 Tool from P&S Militia. I added to this order a MN M91/30. I also bought a correct SVT-40 Sling.

Weatherby Vangaurd in .270 Win (Wholesale Sports), with Boyd laminate JSS pepper stock on the way (Barshaw), S&W 686-6 on the way(Reliable)

I got a Breda M1 reciever for a project gun. I am going to slowly build up a .308 Garand. Do you guys have any recommendations for a smith to index the barrel and headspace it when I get all the parts?

Another Mosin...

Bought a very nice SA stamped Remington 1917 (brand name in semi-circle shape) from a member of this forum.
Judging by description and the pics he sent me, very good walnut with a few pockmarks, matching bolt, shiny barrel and chamber, no rust, plenty of old, caked cosmo.
I'll wait until Mr. Postman comes a'knocking at my door and then I guess I'll put some nice pics on this thread. :D
PP.

I can't believe this thread has progressed this far without a single pic.
I've got a couple goodies on the way but I'll wait until I can actually show them off.

Sold my maverick 88 shotgun, and today an all matching mint condition Chinese SKS with a blade bayonet came home with me, and I have an M44 Mosin on the way. :D

How the hell did that happen? :D

~Angel~ was very fortunate to obtain this pretty rare Enfield collectible from another member ....

1917 No.1 MKII Wire Cutter
(Mounted on 1918 No.1 MkIII* Cdn ShtLE)

(Click PIC to Enlarge)

We've added it to the England - Milsurp Knowledge Library (click here) http://www.milsurps.com/forumdisplay.php?f=12. The entry also includes on-line videos demonstrating how the wire cutter works when mounted on a Canadian No1. MkIII* Enfield rifle, as well as feedback from MILSURPS.COM member "wheaty", who describes its operation in detail.

I've got a Garand and an M14 and a USGI synthetic stock for my M14 all in the mail to me! I think I also might need a new key for my PO box as mine is almost worn out from checking for parcel slips.

I just got my Mosin-Nagant M1891/30 tonight. Unpacked it, played with all the bits and am anticipating pulling the trigger at the next Milshoot. Can anyone tell me what the round, knurled cap is for? I am pointing at it in the second picture.
Thanks

ps. What a nasty bayonet...ouch. Nice fluting job though.

I believe that's the cleaning rod guide/muzzle protector...only on the end of the barrel for cleaning.

Congrats on the new Mosin. :)

I can hardly wait for mine to show up in the mail also. :dancingbanana:

Also your lucky to get all the goodies with yours, as I'm having to search high and low for Mosin stuff, such as pouches, slings, cleaning kits etc etc. Where did you get your Mosin from?

And just in case you haven't seen it yet...

This one almost got me evicted...may have to part with it even before the dust settles........too bad about the repro stock, but the rest looks good. Irwin Pedersen did not have paratrooper carbines, or so I am told, so will likely stick the stock on my Inland. Looks like a couple postwar markings. Thanks for looking:)
