Hi,
I just picked up a shiny new Hornady OAL guage on a visit to Cabelas this weekend. I just took a few measurements with the guage and a 50gr Hornady vmax and my H&R Ultra. It turns out that seated at the published OAL of 2.2" (Hornady #7 manual), I have a jump of nearly a quarter inch to the lands
. It actually comes out at 0.23" for an OAL of 2.43". If I were to even try to seat that bullet anywhere near the rifling, it'd fall right out of the case
Chris.
